In our interview with Ms. Manuela Hug, Senior Financial Consultant at EPSA Germany, we delve into the world of funding. An area that is of great importance to many entrepreneurs and managers. Grants are more than just financial aid; they are often a springboard for innovation and progress. They enable companies to realize visionary projects and drive sustainable developments. We talk to experienced experts about the different types of funding, the conditions for applying for them and special programs available to start-ups and small businesses. Our aim is to paint a clear picture of how companies can make the most of these important resources for their growth and development.
1. What types of funding are available?
There are different types of subsidies, including grants, allowances, financing and investments. They offer different support options for companies for their projects, plans and investments, depending on their specific needs and objectives.
2. What requirements must a company fulfill in order to receive funding?
Companies must meet various requirements in order to be eligible for funding. These criteria vary depending on the funding program and can include degree of innovation, environmental awareness or, for example, CO2 savings. The specific requirements depend heavily on the objectives of the respective program.3. Are there specific funding programs for start-ups and small companies?
The research allowance in Germany makes no distinction in terms of the age or size of the company. This means that both start-ups and established small companies can benefit from this allowance, provided they meet the criteria.4. How can my company apply for funding for innovation and research?
Companies should contact a strategic partner who has extensive expertise in the various funding programs. This partner can help to identify the most suitable program with the highest funding rate for the company’s specific project.5. Which documents and records are required for the funding application?
Various documents and evidence are required for an application for funding. These can be project documentation, timesheets, invoices and proof of payment from service providers, for example.6. Which are the four most important funding programs in Germany?
The most important funding programmes in Germany include the research allowance, the Central Innovation Programme for SMEs (ZIM) and various KfW programmes for investments in machinery, buildings or funding for digitalization.7. What tax advantages are associated with the research allowance?
The research allowance offers tax advantages, as it is offset against a pending tax burden and credits are even paid out. This also applies to companies that are not yet generating sales or are making a loss. The allowance does not have to be taxed.8. Can companies apply for several subsidies at the same time?
In principle, companies can apply for several subsidies. However, it is important that there is no double funding, i.e. the same costs may not be claimed under several funding programs.9. How long does it take for a grant application to be processed and a decision to be made?
For the research allowance, the maximum processing time is three months from the date of application, while for ZIM, it can take up to nine months.10. How can a company ensure that it takes advantage of all available grants?
To ensure that a company takes advantage of all available grants, it can collaborate with external strategic partners. These partners provide specialized expertise and experience in the acquisition and management of grants.Take control of your future!
