Overview of the follow-up reports
Today we look back together on this year’s summer parties of our company. The locations in Düsseldorf and Austria each spent the hotly anticipated summer party on the water.
Kloepfel sails across the water
On June 16, the colleagues from Düsseldorf met on the deck of the ship RheinPoesie starting at 1 pm. There they were greeted with Aperol and champagne and shortly thereafter the trip started already at 2 p.m. heading south. A DJ, a saxophonist and a percussionist accompanied the Kloepfel team throughout the day and ensured a good atmosphere. At 6 p.m. a varied buffet was served. From 8 p.m. onwards, there was a lively party atmosphere with a selection of long drinks and suitable music. The ship docked again at 10 p.m. and the team continued to party merrily until late in the evening.

Summer party Austria
From June 16 to 18, the Austrian Kloepfel team together with some colleagues from Slovakia enjoyed their summer party in Siofok, Hungary. Under bright sunshine they celebrated the day on a ship sailing across the beautiful Lake Balaton.

BME event 13 June 2023 – “Purchasing in difficult times – modern negotiation management”
The joint event organized by the BME of the Duisburg/west Ruhr region and Kloepfel Consulting on June 13, 2023, was hosted by enthusiastic participants at the “Haus der Unternehmer” in Duisburg.
The current challenges of purchasing were addressed, especially the geopolitical tensions that have become the main concern of German executives. Furthermore, the strongly weakened prices for energy and important raw materials cause a high expectation for the short-term development of purchasing prices. Accordingly, modern negotiation techniques were presented and the possibilities of ChatGPT for preparing and conducting negotiations were explored.
Dr. oec. Stephan Hofstetter, partner at Kloepfel Consulting for eight years and lecturer for prospective purchasing managers, was on site as guest speaker. Klemens Grütters, Head of Purchasing at Haus Freudenberg GmbH, was positively impressed: “We found the insight into the concerns of executives, modern negotiation approaches as well as the first use case for ChatGPT in purchasing exciting and inspiring”. Haus Freudenberg offers valuable employment opportunities to more than 2,000 people with disabilities.
Mr. Hofstetter’s presentation provided the impetus for an in-depth discussion round.
Göttingen Lecture Series for Purchasing and Supply Chain Experts
On June 6, 2023, the Göttingen lecture series for purchasing and supply chain experts entered its second round.
Kloepfel Consulting and EPSA Germany had the pleasure of welcoming participants to the green campus of pharmaceutical and laboratory supplier Sartorius.

The exciting program consisted of two presentations with experts from Kloepfel Consulting and EPSA Germany as well as a guided tour of the Sartorius plant. As a moderator from the region, Christian Fuchs, manager at Kloepfel Consulting, accompanied the participants through the afternoon.
The last three years with Corona, war of aggression against Ukraine and inflation have led to upheavals. The lecture impressively illustrated how built-up inventories can be optimized and how profit inflation at suppliers can be countered. Dr. oec. HSG Stephan Hofstetter, long-time partner of Kloepfel Consulting, spoke about “Working Capital Management”.
Finally, the successful access to diverse funding programs over the entire life cycle of innovative products, i.e. from development to capital-intensive industrialization, was presented.
The “360° funding management with EPSA” was introduced by Dr.-Ing. Stefan Petzold from EPSA Germany, a sister company of Kloepfel Consulting.
The third major highlight was the tour of the Sartorius plant. The traditional company showed the guests the area for filtration, a core topic at Sartorius.
The topics of the presentations obviously hit the pulse of the times, as became apparent in the in-depth dialog, and not only during a concluding snack.
