Employee interview with Rebecca Louisa Stahlhacke
In an employee interview, Rebecca Stahlhacke, Senior Consultant at Kloepfel Consulting GmbH, tells us how she got her job and how she always challenges herself.
What was your application process like?
My rather unconventional application process started almost 3 years ago and with the head of department. I was then invited to the Düsseldorf for a personal meeting followed by a call with an offer and a contract. Shortly after my graduation I started working at Kloepfel.
Why did you decide on this job at that time?
It was important to me to find an entry-level position after my studies, where I could learn a lot, work independently but still be apart of the team, and further my development. After my job interview and getting to know the “Indirect Purchasing” team, it was clear to me that Kloepfel Consulting has all these aspects.
What elements make up your day-to-day work?
It is difficult to say, because it changes everyday. A working day consists of an interchange with the customer in order to prepare tenderings and negotiations etc. In addition, there are many discussions with suppliers: one consults on offers, conducts negotiations, agrees on the next steps (such as meeting in person, sampling, etc.). Furthermore, there is an exchange with the Kloepfel team, whether all topics that are proceeding go as planned, where there is a need for clarification.
What fulfills you in your job?
The variety of customers and industries that you get to know by working in the “indirect purchasing team” is brilliant. You have to adapt to different featuresin each project, understand the industries and challenge yourself again and again. No day is like the other and after working for 3 years in this company, the job still meets the requirements I had for myself and for Kloepfel Consulting, as my employer, when I started working.
What challenges do you face in your daily work?
You have to deal with new circumstances and features at any time. Every project works differently. For me, empathy is one of the keywords that every consultant should have.
What are the characteristics of your team?
Personally our “Indirect Purchasing” team is unbeatable. This is where the words solidarity, team spirit and structure come together. Our responsible partners back us up and let us compete. We enjoy our freedoms such as the division of work, the approach to projects or even the way we deal with customers/suppliers. We keep each other informed and support each other. You can say we are a well-coordinated team!
Why does Kloepfel suit you as an employer?
Personally, it is the Kloepfel Group values that I represent and which are reflected in the entire company, especially in our team. Values like solidarity, support and reliability.
