Darius Zamani-Achtiani is the new partner at the medium-sized purchasing consultancy Kloepfel Consulting. With this move, the owner-managed consultancy is reacting to the increased challenges and project demands in the retail and non-food consumer goods sectors, which e.g. include fashion manufacturers and producers of electrical goods.
Darius Zamani-Achtiani explains: “Due to the corona virus, the consumer mood in the DACH region has clearly flattened out. Therefore it is particularly important for retailers and the consumer goods industry in the non-food sector to optimize their purchasing conditions, but also their purchasing strategies and processes. The markets for suppliers and buyers are also shifting in a wide variety of commodity groups and vice versa. These developments create many new opportunities for purchasing, but also risks”.
Previously, the 46-year-old was Senior Manager at Kloepfel Consulting, responsible for the consumer goods and retail sector with a focus on fashion and lifestyle. With immediate effect, Zamani-Achtiani is expanding the retail and consumer goods division with Marcus Schilling.
Zamani-Achtiani has knowledge about trade in its entire range as well as about the textile and fashion sector. Purchasing and procurement have always been his core areas of responsibility.
Zamani-Achtiani began his professional career at Peek & Cloppenburg in Düsseldorf, where he was employed for a total of 13 years. He left the company as a central purchaser and then worked for five years as a central purchaser for the office retailer TK Maxx. Later he moved to Brands4friends as Head of Sourcing & Purchasing to expand his digital expertise. At the eBay subsidiary, he was responsible for the entire purchasing department. Furthermore, as Division Head at Tom Tailor Group he managed a brand within the group and expanded the Far East business. Before becoming part of the Kloepfel family, Zamani-Achtiani worked as an independent consultant for medium-sized companies to increase their profitability through operative measures in purchasing.
