Compared to the same month last year, exports fell by 4.4 percent.<\/p>\n<p>In contrast, imports rose by 0.3 percent compared to May 2024 but decreased by 6.3 percent compared to June 2023.<br \/>\nIn total, german exports amounted to 127.7 billion euros in June 2024, while imports to Germany reached a value of 107.3 billion euros. This resulted in a positive foreign trade surplus of 20.4 billion euros.<\/p>\n<h3>Trade within the EU<\/h3>\n<p>Destatis reports that in June 2024, goods worth 69.7 billion euros were exported to the member states of the European Union, while imports from these countries amounted to 56.3 billion euros. Compared to May 2024, exports decreased by 3.4 percent, and imports increased by 1.0 percent.<\/p>\n<p>The value of exports to eurozone countries amounted to 48.5 billion euros in June 2024, representing a decrease of 3.2 percent compared to the previous month. Imports from eurozone countries totaled 37.0 billion euros, a decline of 0.3 percent.<\/p>\n<p>For EU countries that are not part of the eurozone, exports in June 2024 totaled 22.1 billion euros, with a decrease of 3.7 percent. Imports from non-eurozone EU countries amounted to 19.3 billion euros, marking an increase of 3.7 percent.<\/p>\n<h3>Trade outside the EU<\/h3>\n<p>According to Destatis, goods worth 57.9 billion euros were exported from Germany to non-EU countries in June 2024, while imports from these countries reached 51.0 billion euros. Compared to May 2024, there was a 3.5 percent decrease in exports and a 0.4 percent decrease in imports.<\/p>\n<p>Most german exports in June 2024 went to the United States, although there was a 7.7 percent decrease in goods exported compared to May 2024, with a value of 12.9 billion euros. Exports to China increased by 3.4 percent to 7.9 billion euros, while those to the United Kingdom decreased by 0.6 percent to 6.5 billion euros.<br \/>\nIn June 2024, most imports came from China, which, however, decreased by 4.9 percent compared to the previous month, to 12.3 billion euros. Imports from the United States decreased by 6.5 percent to 7.4 billion euros, while those from the United Kingdom increased by 11.1 percent to 3.1 billion euros.<\/p>\n<p>Exports to Russia in June 2024 decreased by 3.2 percent compared to May 2024, totaling 0.6 billion euros.
