Module 1: Up to \u20ac200 million for decarbonization<\/strong><\/p>\n This module is aimed at companies running industrial processes that, through investments or research projects, can save at least 40% of their CO\u2082 emissions.<\/p>\n The funding is open to all industrial companies with CO\u2082-intensive processes, particularly targeting industries such as chemical production, steel and foundries, glass and ceramics manufacturers, as well as the paper and cement sectors. Companies can receive up to \u20ac200 million for their investment projects, with a funding rate of up to 60%. Research projects can be funded with up to 80% of the costs, with a maximum of \u20ac35 million.<\/p>\n Module 2: Funding for CCS\/CCU technologies in the millions<\/strong><\/p>\n The second module supports projects for carbon capture, storage, and utilization (CCU\/CCS) in sectors where emissions are hard to avoid, such as cement, lime, and thermal waste treatment. Additionally, innovation projects in basic chemicals, glass, and ceramics are eligible for funding.<\/p>\n Funding rates reach up to 30%, with a maximum of \u20ac30 million for investment projects, and 80%, with a maximum of \u20ac35 million for innovation projects (applied research and development).<\/p>\n The BIK is open to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) as well as large companies. For SMEs, the minimum project size eligible for funding starts at \u20ac500,000, while large companies must invest at least \u20ac1 million. This makes the BIK a powerful tool to support both small and medium-sized innovation leaders and established market giants in the German industry.<\/p>\n The funds are made available through the General Block Exemption Regulation (GBER) and the Temporary Crisis and Transition Framework (TCTF).
