BASF’s Care Chemicals division has published the second edition of its Responsible Sourcing Report (RSR). According to the chemical company’s press release, the report provides an overview of the progress made in 2023 with regard to sustainability. The company refers to the three pillars of sustainability: economy, environment and society.<\/p>\n
At the same time, BASF emphasizes that the publication confirms its commitment to sustainability. For example, the company says it is active in promoting sustainable practices.<\/p>\n
According to the press release, the report focuses on the most important raw materials in the Care Chemicals segment.<\/p>\n
As BASF writes, the palm oil footprint in this business unit has been further reduced. According to the company, this was achieved by exclusively sourcing RSPO-certified sustainable palm and palm kernel oil.<\/p>\n
BASF also names sustainably certified coconut oil as an important pillar of renewable raw materials.<\/p>\n
In 2023, BASF and the international Solidaridad network entered into a partnership. The aim is to promote sustainable palm oil.<\/p>\n
The aim is also to improve the living conditions of small farmers in Indonesia and Malaysia.<\/p>\n
According to the press release, next year’s program will focus on developing sustainable and resilient production systems and supporting inclusive market linkage systems.<\/p>\n

BASF also shows that progress is being made in the botanical supply chain. In this regard, the company refers to its Responsible Acive Program. According to the press release, the Care Chemicals division intends to use this program to strengthen its botanical supply chain. It also aims to create a positive impact along the value chain of bioactive ingredients for a more sustainable future.<\/p>\n
