The German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) presented Volkswagen AG with the VDA Logistics Award at the Forum Automobile Logistics (FAL) in Herzogenaurach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Volkswagen won over the jury with its ‘MEB Battery Logistics’ concept. Every year, the VDA Logistics Award honors innovative logistics solutions that are intended to serve as groundbreaking examples for other companies in the automotive industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Due to the diverse participation of automotive production, logistics and supply chain management, the Forum Automotive Logistics offers the ideal platform for jointly developing solutions and laying the foundations for a promising future, according to the VDA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The winning concept for battery logistics at Volkswagen AG aims to achieve cost-efficient and sustainable production and logistics of cell modules and battery systems. The basis for this is a uniform process in conjunction with transport and storage technology as well as an efficient, sustainable and cost-effective material flow, which is to be used in all of the company’s operating facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The initiative will also lead to close links between the battery assembly plants, the vehicle plants and, in the future, the cell plants of the Group brands. As the VDA reports, synergies are created and knowledge transfer is promoted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
